Exploring the world of Enshrouded leads players into ancient ruins, treacherous Shroud zones, and challenging environmental puzzles. Among the earliest hurdles players face is rescuing Athalan Skree, the Hunter survivor, from her resting place inside the Ancient Vault. Unlocking her pod requires navigating a tricky button puzzle that relies on vertical movement and sharp observation. Knowing how to find and press each hidden button simplifies the journey through this dungeon.

Understanding the Hunter Vault Layout

The Ancient Vault housing the Hunter is located northeast of your initial base area. Before entering, players must navigate past exterior Vukah camps and initial interior lightning traps. Having a Grappling Hook equipped is essential for completing the traversal challenges inside. The structure is designed to test your platforming skills early in the campaign.

Locating the Ground Level Buttons

Upon entering the main vault area, the first button can be found in a room situated on the west side. Activating this button initiates the sequence required to open the central treasure door and proceed toward the main chamber. A second switch or button is located nearby, accessible through an adjoining doorway under the stair structure. Activating these initial controls releases the first phase of security locks.

Reaching the Upper Entryway Button

The final and most hidden button rests on a high ledge directly above the main entrance across from the lightning traps. To reach this spot, players must jump onto a nearby brazier at the top of the stairs to gain extra height. Perform a running jump, deploy your glider, and instantly interact with the grappling ceiling bar. Swing toward the side wall lattice to climb onto the elevated platform and hit the final switch.

Claiming Loot and Rescuing the Hunter

Once all three switches are activated, the door guarding the bonus vault chest unlocks. Players can claim valuable early-game weapons, armor pieces, or spell charges from the container. Afterwards, cross the central gap using your grappling hook and head up the main stairs. Interact with the pod inside the central chamber to awaken the Hunter and allow her to be summoned back at your base.
